Metastorm Polls Global Customer Base on Actual Results and Process Improvement
Focus for 2009
BALTIMORE, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Metastorm, a leading provider of Business
Process Management (BPM), Business Process Analysis (BPA), and Enterprise
Architecture (EA) software for aligning strategy with execution, today
announced the results of an online survey of its global customer base. The
survey was designed to gather information on the effectiveness of Metastorm's
software in addressing real life business problems, to capture return on
investment metrics, and to find out how customers are using the software to
survive the recession.
Over 400 people responded to the three-question, multiple-choice survey which
was distributed to Metastorm's global customer base of both business and IT
users. Because most organizations are using Metastorm ProVision(R), Metastorm
BPM(R) and/or Metastorm Integration Manager across multiple departments and
applications, respondents were allowed to choose more than one response to
each question.
The survey results show:
-- The top business process improvement focus areas for 2009 are
operational processes core to product or service delivery (64%),
followed closely by internal processes (44%) and compliance and risk
management projects (31%).
-- Organizations are taking advantage of Metastorm's software in ways
that will help them survive the recession -- including delivering
increased employee productivity (67%), greater control and visibility
(64%), and lower costs (46%). Over 30% also expect the use of
Metastorm's software to make them more agile so that they will be
better positioned when the market rebounds.
-- The majority of respondents cited an average return on investment from
each Metastorm software project to be between 16-30%, with some
projects
delivering a return of over 100%.
Results of the survey were shared with attendees at Metastorm's Global User
Conference this week as part of a keynote presentation delivered by Metastorm
Chairman and CEO, Robert Farrell.
"This survey allowed us to get up-to-date insight on the priorities and
results our customers are seeing in the current economy as it relates to the
use of our software," stated Robert Farrell, chairman and CEO of Metastorm.
"We have always been very impressed by the ways in which our customers deliver
results with our software, and we are proud to know that -- even in these
tough economic times -- our customers continue to rely on Metastorm's software
for their critical business process improvement initiatives. We are pleased to
validate that our software is helping companies survive and perform better
during the recession, as well as making them more agile for the future. We
look forward to continuing to help our customers meet critical business
objectives and gain strategic advantage."
