BURLINGTON, MA, Apr 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
StarWind Software, a global leader in storage and iSCSI SAN software,
today announced that it has joined the Microsoft Virtualization Solutions
program. Becoming a part of Microsoft's partner ecosystem allows StarWind
to deliver robust, complete solutions for virtualized infrastructure to
joint customers that run on Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Windows Server
2008 and Windows Server Clusters for high availability environments.

StarWind's flagship product, StarWind Server 4.0, is an open iSCSI SAN
software that converts any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows server into a reliable
and powerful SAN. StarWind Server allows customers to deploy a
full-featured iSCSI SAN on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 which will
optimize both physical and virtualized environments, and will also deliver
advanced, enterprise-class functionality. It can be used as shared storage
with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V virtualized environments.
StarWind also supports Microsoft Windows Server Cluster environments with
applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint or
Microsoft Exchange.

StarWind's iSCSI SAN is the ideal "shared storage" solution for building
high availability virtual infrastructures with Microsoft Hyper-V. It is
reliable and powerful yet very easy to administer. It turns any
industry-standard Windows server into a shared storage solution for
Hyper-V and works right over existing networks eliminating the need for
high-cost proprietary hardware or networking equipment. Implementing a
reliable shared storage with Hyper-V is becoming an industry "best
practice."

StarWind provides shared storage and enhances Hyper-V's functionality by:

-- Providing an extra layer of protection and higher data availability
-- Reducing downtime to near zero with storage redundancy
-- Improving hardware utilization by leveraging existing IT
    infrastructure
-- Simplifying storage management for Hyper-V
-- Protecting against a single point of failure

"We are excited about the closer relationship with Microsoft and their
increased attention to virtualization solutions," said Zorian Rotenberg,
president and CEO of StarWind. "StarWind's iSCSI SAN software is the
perfect complement to Hyper-V environments, providing enterprise class
features such as clustering and failover for disaster recovery and
business continuity. Customers will find that StarWind is simple to
install, easy to administer and very powerful, all at a truly affordable
price."
