THE DIRECTORS' DEALING INVESTMENT TRUST PLC                   

                              Ordinary 25p shares                              

The Company announces that on 28 April 2009 it purchased in the market 500,000
Ordinary 25p Shares at 217 pence per share for cancellation.

In addition to this transaction 50,000 shares from treasury are required to be
cancelled to ensure the Company holds no more than 10% of its current shares in
issue in treasury.

Following these transactions the number of shares in issue is 9,774,049 of
which 982,000 are held in treasury. The number of shares in circulation is
therefore 8,792,049.
