PHILADELPHIA--(Business Wire)--
SCA Americas, a Philadelphia-based business group of SCA, a global consumer
goods and paper company, has asked employees to avoid all non-essential travel
to and within Mexico for the foreseeable future due to the swine flu outbreak.
With a significant presence in Mexico (2,500 employees), SCA is taking the
health of their employees very seriously and has instituted a series of measures
to ensure employee health and safety in light of this situation:

* Physicians were on-site at each manufacturing facility over the weekend and
made a full checkup of every worker, individually, to ensure workers did not
show any symptoms of the virus. Doctors and safety teams continue to make rounds
of all sites, checking employees at the site entrances and overseeing the
overall health of the work environment.
* More than 4,000 face masks were distributed to employees who are now required
to wear them in the plants. SCA also distributed 1,000 brochures about the flu
and protective sanitary measures that employees should take at work and at home.
Employees are being surveyed to uncover if they have family members with flu
symptoms and they are being provided with health information.
* A stepped-up cleaning schedule has been implemented at SCA sites so that
cafeterias, restrooms and crowded areas are being cleaned with chlorine and
antibacterial soap every 2 hours.
* Employees in their administrative offices are temporarily working a 7:15 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. schedule so that they are not eating in and traveling through
densely populated areas during peak times.
* Corporate messages with flu updates have been sent to employees on a regular
basis via email and posted on digital signs in all locations.
* SCA is working with local and national authorities to keep track of most
recent information about the flu and the government response and
recommendations
