Center to Expose and Close Animal Factories to Hold Media Teleconference
Tomorrow to Discuss Smithfield Operations, Connection to Swine Flu, Health and
Enviro Impacts

WASHINGTON, April 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released
today by the Center to Expose and Close Animal Factories:

WHAT: The Center to Expose and Close Animal Factories (CECAF) will hold a
media teleconference to discuss the worsening health and environmental damage
caused by animal "factories." Among the topics will be Smithfield Foods at
the center of the swine flu outbreak in Veracruz, Mexico. Officials in Mexico
are looking at "manure lagoons" and a local pig farm as a possible epicenter
of this world-wide health crisis.

CECAF, the effort of two crusading lawyers who have turned 10 years of
litigation into a far-reaching advocacy campaign, will offer new insight into
the dangerous behavior by reckless corporations such as Smithfield which has
resulted in giant animal factories where pigs produce enormous amounts of
manure and other waste that poison our air and water, make people sick, and
confine them to their homes or drive them out for good.

WHEN:Thursday, April 30 at 11 a.m. EDT. Toll-free call-in number is (877)
783-2009; participant access code is 396657.
