SAN CLEMENTE, CA, Apr 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
CORAID, Inc., makers of affordably fast SAN, announced today that it
endorses the newly formed Open Cloud Manifesto, the IT industry's largest
vendor-neutral group that is dedicated to the belief that the cloud
should be open. CORAID joins over 150 global companies that have joined
together to establish a core set of principles to ensure freedom of
choice, flexibility, and openness as cloud computing emerges and pledged
to establish a set of core principles around the open cloud.

The main agenda of the Open Cloud Manifesto is advocating the use of open
frameworks to allow clouds operated by different entities work together
seamlessly and advocating these standards to promote "cloud" computing.

"CORAID contributed its first line of open source code in 2001, and today
the ATA-over-Ethernet community is thriving. AoE is now not only in
storage but has found its way into silicon chip designs, consumer storage
devices, and a whole host of innovations beyond its intended target,"
said Jim Kemp, CEO of CORAID. "Promoting open standards and
interoperability are very important to innovation and ensuring that the
industry gains the greatest value from open standards-based products
working together, free from vendor lock-in."

The Open Cloud Manifesto was publicly released several weeks ago by a
number of supporting companies involved in the cloud computing ecosystem
including IBM, Sun Microsystems, VMware, Cisco, EMC, Red Hat, Novell,
Juniper Networks and a host of other companies. For the complete list of
supports, visit www.opencloudmanifesto.org.

CORAID's EtherDrive(R) storage utilizes AoE as a fast and affordable
Ethernet alternative to Fibre Channel or iSCSI. Unlike iSCSI, AoE is not
burdened with performance degradation on the overhead of TCP/IP.
