Bipartisan Senate Leadership Recognized
WASHINGTON, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Information Technology Industry
Council (ITI) President and CEO Dean Garfield awarded Senate Republican
Leader, Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the ITI 2008 Legislator of the Year Award.
"As a leading advocate for the high tech community, Senator Alexander (R-TN)
has worked tirelessly to improve clean air standards, foster renewable energy
solutions, and improve the lives of everyday Americans through technological
advances," said Garfield.
Senator Alexander is a strong voice for our industry and serves on several
critical committees, including the Committee on Environment and Public Works
(EPW), the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on the Budget, the
Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), and the Committee
on Rules and Administration.
In March, ITI also awarded Senate Democratic Leader, Barbara Boxer (D-CA), the
2008 Legislator of the Year Award.
