PHOENIX--(Business Wire)--
Arizona State Credit Union was recently presented with the Phoenix Rescue
Mission`s Sapphire Award for the Best Corporate Water Drive. In July 2008,
associate teams from throughout the credit union competed against each other
with an initial goal to raise 500 cases of water. At the end of the drive, more
than 1,350 cases of bottled water and cash contributions were donated to the
Phoenix Rescue Mission. This was enough to provide a three-month supply of water
to make it through the hottest part of the summer months.

Phoenix Rescue Mission`s top priority is to provide heat relief to homeless
people throughout the Valley. With the temperatures in triple digits, those
living on the streets are at high risk for dehydration and other heat-related
exposure. The Rescue Mission recorded 58 heat-related deaths in 2007 and only
two in 2008. The water donated and the cash contributed by credit union
associates may have very well meant the difference between life and death on the
streets of Phoenix.

"We are very proud of the work our associates have done to give back to the
community and to raise money for organizations like Phoenix Rescue Mission,"
said David E. Doss, President and CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. "It is an
honor to be recognized with the award, but the real happiness comes with knowing
that we are able to help people. Credit unions are built on a `People Helping
People` foundation and this award showcases our dedication to that philosophy."

Chuck Anderson, EVP Commercial Lending; Dyan Mashman, SVP Chief Information
Officer; Paul Stull, SVP Marketing; and Cathy Olague, VP Marketing, were
recognized as Treasured Volunteers, and accepted a special bronze sculpture by
artist Scott Stearman titled "A Cup in His Name," on behalf of Arizona State
Credit Union and the associates who participated in the water drive.
