COLUMBIA, Md., May 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the
hospitality industry, is pleased to announce that Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops
has selected the MICROS e7 Point-of-Sale solution and the latest generation of
mymicros.net enterprise business intelligence software for all its corporate
and franchised stores. The deployment to all its U.S. and Canadian locations
will occur over the next 18 months.

MICROS e7 was selected out of an initial field of 14 POS vendors. After
successfully completing numerous in-store pilots, MICROS e7 was selected
mainly because of its core functionality and its simplified support and
installation process. All systems will be pre-programmed with employees,
prices, and local menu items prior to shipping for installation.

Ben & Jerry's, an extremely eco-conscious company, was also particularly
impressed with the sustainability and low carbon footprint of the MICROS WS5
terminal. MICROS WS5 is disk-less and operates without a fan, requiring less
than half of the energy of a typical PC-based device.

"We wanted to achieve complete buy-in on our new system from the franchise
community. Therefore, we assembled a panel of 10 franchisees from across the
country to lead the evaluation and decision process," stated Stu Boyd, Senior
Manager - Franchise Business Systems for Ben & Jerry's. "The panel
overwhelmingly supported MICROS, selecting the MICROS e7 running on the MICROS
Workstation 5 as our next generation POS system."

"We are pleased to strengthen and expand our partnership with Ben & Jerry's
Scoop Shops," stated Tom Moran, Vice President, MICROS Restaurant Sales &
Strategies. "MICROS e7 is specifically designed for the restaurant that
requires a simplified POS solution. We look forward to a successful
deployment to the Ben & Jerry's franchise community."
