Hungary's Egis says Q1 net profit rises 68 pct

BUDAPEST May 11 (Reuters) - Hungarian drug producer Egis EGIS said on Monday its fiscal second-quarter net profit rose by 68 percent to 5.14 billion forints ($25.16 million) from 3.05 billion a year earlier.

The result was above the 4.6 billion forint market forecast given by business daily Napi Gazdasag.

The company's quarterly sales revenue rose by 11 pct to 26.87 billion forints on the back of an 11.4 percent rise in export revenues, the company said. (Reporting by Balazs Koranyi; Editing by Greg Mahlich) ($1=204.26 forint)
