PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 is the foundation for deploying
analytical results into systems to improve customer interactions
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS), the leading global provider of Predictive Analytics
software and solutions, today introduced PASW Collaboration and Deployment
Services 4 (formerly Predictive Enterprise Services), an integrated platform
that provides a flexible foundation for sharing, managing, automating and
integrating analytic assets directly into business processes.

The new functionality includes enhanced collaboration capabilities that provide
more options for publishing analytical results; enhancements to the Automation
Service with additional integration options; and a Real Time Scoring Service to
deploy analytical scores into existing applications.

Jason Verlen, vice president of research and development and chief product
strategist at SPSS Inc., said, "Organizations that understand the immense
strategic value of Predictive Analytics also recognize that, to gain the
greatest value from their investment, they need to encourage collaboration
between those who develop analytical models, reports or surveys, and those who
rely on them to guide decision-making. PASW Collaboration and Deployment
Services 4 provides the foundation to integrate analytics into key business
processes, so the right decisions are made and the best actions are taken on a
consistent, repeatable basis."

Part of the SPSS Predictive Analytics Software (PASW) portfolio of products,
PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 offers a secure, centralized,
searchable repository for predictive models, statistical analyses, reports and
PASW Data Collection survey questions and results. The platform automates
analytical processes for greater consistency and control, and deploys results to
business users, consumers or directly into operational systems to reduce
customer churn, improve marketing campaigns or identify cases of fraud.

Jiri Lakosil, risk manager at CMSS, the largest buildings savings bank in the
Czech Republic, said, "CMSS performs a whole portfolio of credit risk analyses,
including behavioral scoring, risk assessment, cross selling and loan
application scoring with PASW Modeler data mining workbench and PASW
Collaboration & Deployment Services. The features such as the Real Time Scoring
Service allow us to better integrate real time credit risk scores into our loan
approval process, saving time, money and increasing our customer satisfaction.
Without PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services, we wouldn`t have been able to
set up the high-quality credit risk analysis system so easily."

Share, Protect and Publish Analytical Results Across the Enterprise

As more users - from the business line manager to expert analyst - are involved
in the analytic lifecycle, it is even more important to securely share
analytical assets, and make it easy for analysts to publish results to those
making decisions.

PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 enables organizations of any size to
easily publish analytical results through the new Deployment Portal and
configurable browser interfaces. Analysts can now create and publish interactive
interfaces and statistical processes from PASW Statistics (formerly SPSS
Statistics), the world`s leading statistical software suite, so business users
can leverage this expertise and customize their own results, all from the
Deployment Portal, without having PASW Statistics installed on their desktop.

Marketing managers, for example, can run RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary)
analysis on their customer data via a web browser and use that information to
develop a new campaign targeting their most valuable customers. Predefined
results can also be published directly to the repository so other users have
access.

Automate the Entire Analytical Process

The Automation Service now allows customers to design and manage more complex
analytical jobs by using parameters to customize how jobs are executed. For
example, a date range can be passed to the job directing it to score a specific
set of customers who had sales activity during that date range. Users can
parameterize analytical tasks, such as analyzing a database by specific dates or
geography, so the job is defined once, bringing greater consistency and
confidence to the results.

PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 also has additional integration
interfaces for process notifications. Users can define jobs that automatically
notify another process to begin after another job is finished, or when a
repository event occurs. For example, if new survey data has been posted within
the repository, a new job will be initiated, such as the running of a summary
report.

Deploy Real Time Analytical Results Within Business Processes

PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 includes a new Real Time Scoring
Service that enables the delivery of on-demand scores to other applications,
making it extremely easy to deploy analytical scores within business processes.
Scoring models - such as a model that generates a credit risk score based on
customer data - can be created within PASW Modeler (formerly Clementine), and
then stored in the platform`s repository. An outside application can then pass
input variables to the web services interface and receive a score back in real
time.

Also, PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 has been designed to ensure a
secure, reliable and scalable foundation for the integration of analytical
results within existing enterprise infrastructures. New features include single
sign-on to automatically authenticate users; support for third-party encryption
algorithms, such as those required for compliance with the Federal Information
Processing Standards (FIPS); and support for application server clustering and
virtual environments.

Availability

PASW Collaboration & Deployment Services 4 will be available from SPSS Inc. in
June 2009 by calling 800.543.2185.
