Aviva Appoints Richard Hoskins to Executive Vice President and CFO for North America

CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
Aviva North America, part of Aviva plc, the world`s fifth largest insurance
group, today announced the appointment of Richard Hoskins, who will be joining
the North American region as executive vice president and chief financial
officer, effective May 11, 2009. Aviva`s North America region is comprised of
its US life and annuity business, and its Canadian property & casualty company.

Hoskins joins Aviva with deep industry and global experience. He previously
served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Old Mutual US.
Prior to that, he was acting group finance director at Old Mutual plc in London,
and chief executive officer of National Australia Insurance Services, a
subsidiary of National Australia Bank`s UK operations. Hoskins has also held
several senior management roles in Sydney at Lend Lease Corporation, Qantas
Airways, and Deloitte & Touche.

At Aviva, Hoskins will lead Aviva North America`s finance, actuarial, risk
management, capital, and tax activities, while guiding reinsurance strategy.
Hoskins` direct reports will include the finance directors from Aviva USA and
Aviva Canada.

Hoskins received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business studies from Sheffield
