Pet Photo Contest is Feline vs. Canine

CLEVELAND, May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Few rivalries are as well known
and polarizing as the one between a cat and a dog. Which is the more beloved
species? American Greetings (NYSE: AM) is looking for the answer to this query
by announcing the "Furry Faceoff Challenge" pet photo contest, sponsored by
Frontline and awarding hundreds of dollars in prizes.

Throughout the month of May, AmericanGreetings.com is offering pet owners the
opportunity to show off their beloved furry friends and vote for the cutest at
www.americangreetings.com. The pet photos will be displayed in a dog vs. cat
format and visitors can vote for their favorite between the two, advancing the
winner into the next round. The pet that receives the most "wins" at the end
of the contest will be declared victorious.

During the pet photo contest AmericanGreetings.com will be featuring new
innovative pet ecards. Customizable ecards allow people to create their own
pet band, upload personal pet photos and make their pet come to life and talk.
With hundreds of pet cards to choose from, many will be available for free or
a reduced price.

"We know that people love to send and receive pet ecards and are always
looking for news types of pet cards to send--almost as much as they love to
show off photos of their own pets," said Radhika Balasubramaniam, Brand
Manager AmericanGreetings.com. "This contest and new ecard content allows us
to do all of these things. We're looking forward to seeing cats and dogs go
head to head and seeing which pet comes out on top."

To enter the pet photo contest, visit www.americangreetings.com, fill out the
registration form, and then follow an easy upload process to submit a pet
photo. There is no limit on entries and photos can even be transferred
directly from Webshots accounts. There are also tools available for entrants
to invite friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking
sites to vote for your pet.

The grand prize is a $250 gift certificate to PetSmart, a $100 prize package
to AmericanGreetings.com, PhotoWorks.com and Webshots, and the honor of being
featured as Pet of the Day on Webshots. The top ten will also receive prize
packages from AmericanGreetings.com and PhotoWorks.

"Pet ecards are so popular because pet lovers everywhere like to greet others
by sharing and even featuring what is closest to their hearts: their pets,"
said Balasubramaniam. "We're excited to have people share photos of their
animals and see whether dogs or cats emerge victorious."

The deadline to submit entries is Sunday, May 24, 2009. For complete rules and
to submit your ideas, go to www.americangreetings.com/furry-faceoff-challenge.
