Stamford Health System to Announce on May 14 Innovative Telehealth Initiative
for Senior Citizens, Funded by Verizon Grant

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Health System, Norwalk Community College and the
Verizon Foundation will announce on Thursday (May 14) an innovative telehealth
initiative designed to help senior citizens who live in public housing better
manage their health and chronic diseases, live independently, and reduce
emergency room visits. Leaders also will discuss how the technology will
create new career opportunities for nurse assistants. State Sen. Andrew
McDonald and Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy will also participate part in the
announcement, which will take place at 11 a.m. at the Shippan Place Senior
Center.
