Summary Provides Resource for Biofuels Industry Participants Seeking Impacts of
New RFS
WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Van Ness Feldman, a leading energy law and public policy firm, recently released
its independent digest of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency`s (EPA)
proposed regulations to implement the renewable fuels standard (RFS). The new
program, known as RFS2, mandates levels of renewable fuels to be used by the
nation`s transportation sector by 2022, with benchmarks for advanced biofuels,
biomass-based diesel, and cellulosic biofuels.

"Given our firm`s expansive work in the biofuels industry, including second
generation fuels such as cellulosic ethanol and algae-based biofuels, we
believed this type of summary document was much needed," said Curt Rich, head of
Van Ness Feldman`s Public Policy practice. "We wanted to help biofuel producers
and feedstock providers understand how the proposed federal RFS rules will
impact their business."

Van Ness Feldman`s report summarizes the 600-page EPA proposed rulemaking,
covering topics such as impacts to feedstocks, inclusion of lifecycle greenhouse
gas analysis, treatment of existing facilities, and biofuel funding
opportunities. The full summary document can be found on the Van Ness Feldman
website at http://www.vnf.com/assets/attachments/486.pdf.
