A radical shift in perspective creates a new business model ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- While the average users of social networking sites are merely socializing, a group in New Mexico has "cracked the code" on exactly how to monetize social networks for both hosts and users. Multiple patents are pending and the group is currently creating revenue while its Worksites(C) are under construction. ICAN(C), the first networking site to allow a user to log on and make real money, is not a business, but rather a private network of interdependent professionals looking to work using a new paradigm. The group openly challenges the idea that people must participate in employee/employer/client-based relationships in order to engage in commerce. Anyone with any marketable skill, willing to work with others and capable of grasping this new paradigm for creating income will now have a place in which to do so. While the initial ICAN(C) tools were conceived for projects in the construction industries, they quickly proved relevant for all human commerce. The ICAN(C) team is keenly aware that this is how business will be done in the future, and, in fact, is currently applying the concepts to auto dealerships and manufacturing, retail sales, construction, home ownership, capitalization, lending and banking. The ICAN(C) network, conceived in March 2007, originated in New Mexico but is now a coast-to-coast, multi-state network. Founder Paul Santillanes says, "The difficulty that we experience in sharing our concepts is that many business owners and public officials are not very Internet savvy and this is especially true when it comes to the investor class. They still view the Internet as a novelty and a source of information rather than as the ultimate tool for local and global commerce. We are interested in open collaboration with those who are seeking to monetize their networks, innovative businesses and individuals wanting to join forces to create the Internet we envision." The ICAN(C) collaborators understand their goal clearly - To empower those within its ICAN(C) network to derive Active, Passive, and Residual Income from each act linked to the network. A recent C|Net post (10-16-08) stated "....Twitter still remains Silicon Valley's poster child for hyped companies without revenue models. With the financial crisis continuing to unfold daily, that simply isn't acceptable." This underscores the need for people to get tangible, lasting benefit from their online networks.
