BACKGROUND: Verizon, currently operating its consumer broadband business
with no metering or capping, has moved aggressively to attract content to its
network and its customers, first by setting up a content delivery network and
then by creating a product, Partner Port, that allows content owners and CDNs
to connect their servers directly to the Verizon network, eliminating hops and
transport. Verizon also has been a key player in advancing P2P technology
toward a very efficient method of content delivery. The company's advanced
all-fiber video technology also includes in-home facilities to handle online,
IPTV and RF video.

On his panel, Pasko will discuss the content issue, and Ambeault's panel will
be about the hardware in the home that supports viewer choice. In his
Wednesday keynote, Ambeault will present an overview of the coming evolution
of online video, from Verizon's viewpoint.
