Cox Launches WRIC in HD to Customers in King and Queen County, New Kent, and
West Point
CHESAPEAKE, Va., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- On May 12, Cox Communications will be
launching WRIC HD on channel 708 to customers in King and Queen County, New
Kent, and West Point. Also, CNN HD will be moved to channel 707 in King and
Queen County, New Kent, and West Point only.
Below are the new channel assignments for WRIC, WRIC HD, CNN and CNN HD in
West Point, New Kent and King & Queen County -- beginning May 12:
-- WRIC: Channel 8
-- WRIC HD: Channel 708
-- CNN: Channel 7
-- CNN HD: Channel 707
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jen Garrett said, "Cox is making these
changes because there will be better alignment of the HD channels with their
standard definition channels and we believe this will ease channel reference
for our Middle Peninsula customers. The channel moves will not affect other
areas of Hampton Roads."
WRIC HD is the local ABC affiliate from Richmond. To receive WRIC HD,
customers will need an HD receiver and Cox Limited Basic Service. To receive
CNN HD, customers will need an HD receiver or CableCARD and a subscription to
Cox Standard service, Digital Gateway and HD Expanded Service.
