NEW YORK May 11 (Reuters) - BP Plc (BP.L) returned the 95,000 barrel-per-day sour crude unit to service at its 410,000 bpd refinery in Whiting, Indiana after about 5 weeks of planned work, trade sources said Monday.

The restart was confirmed by Genscape, a power industry data provider that monitors electricity use.

"We think the unit is fully operational," Genscape said.

The smaller of the two gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking units is still in planned turnaround, traders said. (Reporting by Janet McGurty; Editing by John Picinich)
