Turkey - Factors to Watch on May 11

ISTANBUL May 11 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press reports and events that could affect Turkish financial markets on Monday.

The lira IYIX= was trading at 1.5380 to the dollar in early trade after closing at 1.5495 on Friday. Istanbul's main share index .XU100 fell 0.6 percent to 32,805.72. The yield on the new Feb 2, 2011, bond <0#TRTSYSUM=IS> rose to 11.85 percent from a previous 11.68 percent.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian shares extended their rally on Monday and riskier assets such as the euro held on to recent gains, but warnings about an impending pullback are growing amid weak corporate results and views that any global recovery will only be gradual.

For now, traders focused on a smaller-than-expected number of job losses in the United States that reinforced expectations that the global economy, while still weak, may have hit bottom. The data also helped steady oil prices at near a 6-month high above $58 a barrel on Monday.

GRUNDIG GRUND.IS

Turkish television maker Grundig Elektronik's net loss increases 73.5 percent to 15.82 million lira in the first-quarter of 2009.

ENKA (ENKAI.IS)

Turkish construction company Enka Insaat posts a 25.5 percent fall in first-quarter net profit to 106.3 million lira.

CURRENT ACCOUNT

The central bank will release data on the March current account at 4:30 p.m. A Reuters poll forecast the deficit would be $1.3 billion from a surplus of $343 million in February.

CAPACITY UTILISATION

The state statistics institute is due to release data on Turkey's capacity utilisation in April at 10 a.m.

ARCELIK (ARCLK.IS)

Europe's third-biggest white-goods maker posted a 3.4 percent decline in first-quarter profit to 53.44 million lira, according to a filing with the Istanbul Stock Exchange late on Friday. Sales fell 14 percent to 1.318 billion lira, it said.
