Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air 'Fly & Buy Miles' Program Offers Faster Award
Travel

SEATTLE, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air
today introduced a new feature called Fly & Buy Miles that allows customers to
purchase miles when they buy tickets online at alaskaair.com.

Fly & Buy Miles offers miles starting at $25 for 1,000 miles, $62 for 2,500
miles and $109 for 5,000 miles. Mileage Plan miles are redeemable for travel,
first class upgrades, vacation package discounts and monthly Alaska Airlines'
Mileage Plan auctions. Miles purchased are in addition to the miles members
earn for their travel.

"Our Fly & Buy Miles program provides our Mileage Plan members with an
inexpensive way to acquire thousands of miles quickly for worldwide award
travel," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska's vice president of marketing, sales and
customer experience. "This program gives both frequent and occasional fliers
another tool to make award travel more accessible."

Mileage Plan members can also purchase miles at any time in increments of up
to 30,000 through Instant Miles program at alaskaair.com.

Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan offers some of the industry's most attractive
award options, with intrastate awards starting at 7,500 miles one way and
15,000 miles roundtrip. Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan was the first U.S. major
frequent flier program to offer one-way award tickets for half the roundtrip
rate in 2007. Recent online innovations at alaskaair.com have also made it
easier for customers to see all award-seat options for one-way and roundtrip
itineraries on Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, including Super Saver, Choice
and Peak award seats, coach and first class seats, and award sale seats.

Last month, Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan was named "Program of the Year" for
the second consecutive year at InsideFlyer magazine's 21st annual Freddie
Awards. Based on votes cast by more than 700,000 frequent fliers, the Freddie
Awards are the most prestigious consumer-generated honors in the travel
industry. The airline also received first place for Web site, member
communications and best elite-level program.
