SAN DIEGO, CA, May 18 (MARKET WIRE) --
American Technology Corporation (ATC) (NASDAQ: ATCO), a leading provider
of directed sound products and technologies, today announced that it will
unveil and demonstrate the newest member of its LRAD(R) product line, the
LRAD 300X(TM), at the Force Protection Equipment Demonstration (FPED
VII), being held May 19 - 21, 2009 at the Stafford County Regional
Airport in Stafford, Virginia.

FPED VII is conducted by the U.S. Army Product Manager, Force Protection
Systems under the sponsorship of several federal agencies including the
Office of the Under Secretary of Defense For Acquisition, Technology &
Logistics, the Department of Homeland Security, the Joint Staff, and
others. FPED brings together knowledgeable leaders from around the world
and puts them in contact with manufacturers with equipment solutions for
physical security/force protection needs. FPED provides leaders and
decision makers from the Department of Defense, Federal departments and
agencies, and selected state/local law enforcement and corrections
agencies the opportunity to observe, and become familiar with, commercial,
off-the-shelf (COTS) physical security/force protection equipment
available for procurement and testing within 90 days of the demonstration.

ATC's LRAD 300X is a compact, lightweight solution for use on small
vessels, common remote-operated weapon systems, and most military and
armored vehicles. It can be easily transported to provide security
personnel long-range communications and a highly effective hailing and
warning capability where needed. The LRAD 300X produces focused, 100%
intelligible voice transmission over 88dB of background noise beyond 200
meters. It can communicate in excess of 1500 meters depending on local
terrain and environment. LRAD 300X operators have the ability to issue
clear, authoritative verbal commands, followed with powerful deterrent
tones to influence the behavior of targeted threats. (Please see the

RX(TM), we have assembled a formidable line of Long Range Acoustic
Devices(TM). LRAD systems are tailored for use by law enforcement and
emergency responders, land/sea-based military and commercial security
personnel, homeland defense and border enforcement agencies, and for
wildlife control and bird strike avoidance."
