WorldNomads.com Announces Travel Documentary Scholarship to Vietnam

DENVER, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Budding documentary makers now have the
opportunity to kick-start their career by going on assignment to Vietnam with
producer Trent O'Donnell. Trekking with a team of 20 volunteer doctors who
will be providing vital medical services, the winner of the scholarship will
create their own travel documentary and have it considered for broadcast on
the Nat Geo Adventure channel.
The winner of the scholarship will be flown to Vietnam from their country of
residence. They will then join a Buffalo Tours trek with a team of volunteer
doctors deep into the picturesque Mai Chau Valley. The doctors' mission is to
set up temporary health clinics to provide vital medical services to remote
hill tribes. The winner's mission is to tell the story.
Applicants for the scholarship must compile a 3-minute video documentary in
English based around the theme "Journey into an Unknown Culture." Applicants
are also asked to submit 200 words or less on why they should be awarded the
World Nomads 2009 Travel Documentary Scholarship.
The judging panel will be looking for:
-- The ability to convey a strong narrative within a short timeframe
-- Originality
-- A visually engaging story
-- A candidate whose passion for documentary filmmaking makes them an
obvious choice to benefit from this professional mentorship
