Town Hall Meeting to Be Held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 to Educate and Empower
Garfield Residents on Medical and Legal Issues Related to Chromium
Contamination
All Garfield Residents Invited to VFW from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
GARFIELD, N.J., May 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The invasive, yet necessary,
sample collection and testing currently taking place in homes, businesses and
properties in Garfield, New Jersey, serves as a reminder to the city's
residents - and others across the country - that health hazards and property
damage resulting from corporate environmental contamination can be
catastrophic. On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the VFW,
Garfield residents have the opportunity to join hosts Jon L. Gelman and Walter
Slomienski, Jr., to learn more about the dangers of chromium exposure,
potential legal actions and rights and take advantage of an open forum
discussion.
The two New Jersey law firms are hosting the meeting to provide those affected
by the contamination investigation with a chance to gather in an engaging
environment that will educate the attendees about the many medical and legal
issues related to chromium contamination.
-- Environmental and occupational medicine specialist Dr. Michael
Gochfeld,
Ph.D., will speak in detail about the health hazards of chromium
exposure.
-- The attorneys, along with their co-counsel, environmental trial
lawyers
Fidelma Fitzpatrick (DC, MA, NY, RI) and Jon Orent (MA, RI, WI) of
Motley Rice LLC, will share information on legal rights as related to
personal injury and economic property loss due to environmental
contamination.
-- Refreshments will be provided.
"Although Garfield has a long industrial history, these residents deserve
better," said Motley Rice member attorney Fidelma Fitzpatrick. "Corporations
shouldn't be allowed to walk away from problems they create, especially in the
economic environment that individuals and governmental entities are currently
facing."
If you cannot attend the meeting but would like to learn more about the
experts or discuss chromium contamination concerns, contact attorney Jon L.
Gelman (DC, OH, NJ, NY, NE) or Walter M. Slomienski Jr. (NJ) at +1
