Connecting the Dots Between Blago, Obama, Emanuel, and Axelrod
CHICAGO, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- President Barack Obama's November victory and
the arrest of Rod Blagojevich in December has dealt the Chicago political
scene a remarkable hand. The connections among the disgraced governor, Obama,
Rahm Emanuel, and David Axelrod are more tangled and overlapping certainly
than the White House would prefer.
The June issue of Chicago magazine, which hits newsstands Thursday, examines
the complex relationships among these four leading players in the Illinois
Democratic Party.
"Chicago has a diverse political history rocked by scandals," says Richard
Babcock, Chicago editor. "This story sheds light on questions many Chicagoans
and others across the country have been asking about Blagojevich's rise to
fame, his demise, and how other leading Illinois politicians contributed to
the recent events."
This month's issue also features Summer Fun, highlighting 120 ways to
celebrate Chicago's favorite season. Whether you're looking for the top five
water parks, concerts, ice cream shops, or books to read at the beach, this
article offers something for everyone.
Elsewhere in the June issue of Chicago:
-- Arts & Culture: A look back at the colorful 94-year life of the
Queen of Arts, Muriel Newman, a legendary art collector.
-- Style: Put some personality into your big day with one of our five
atypical weddings for Chicago brides.
Chicago editor Richard Babcock, managing editor Shane Tritsch, and other
members of the magazine staff are available for on-air interviews about
stories in the June issue. Contact Kate Mersman at 312-222-3165 to schedule an
interview.
