Western Asset Municipal Defined Opportunity Trust Inc. (NYSE: MTT), the most
recent addition to the closed-end fund family affiliated with Legg Mason, Inc.,
announced today a conference call to update investors on the Fund`s performance
and investment activities since its successful initial public offering on March
27, 2009. The call will be held on May 19, 2009 at 4:15 p.m. (Eastern time).
Robert Amodeo, a municipal portfolio manager from Western Asset Management, will

Western Asset Municipal Defined Opportunity Trust`s primary investment objective
is to provide high current income exempt from federal income tax and then to
liquidate on or about April 30, 2021 and distribute all of the Fund`s net assets
to holders of its common shares. As a secondary objective, the Fund seeks total
