Pliant Receives Illinois Community Service Award

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Pliant Corporation is the proud
recipient of the Community Service Award from the Illinois Park and Recreation
Association and Illinois Association of Park Districts. This award recognizes
outstanding contributions and unselfish devotion for the advancement of parks,
recreation and leisure in the community and the State of Illinois.

Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF) presents the IPRA/IAPD award to
organizations that go above and beyond in supporting and promoting outstanding
opportunities through recreation for children and adults with disabilities.

Pliant has embraced a year round commitment to SLSF, providing funding for
Special Olympics athletic competitions, providing inclusion opportunities,
scholarships for those in financial need and purchasing accessible vehicles
for transporting Northwest Special Recreation Association program
participants. For three years, Pliant Corporation has sponsored the Special
Olympics Illinois Area 18 Spring Games. Pliant employees and their families
have volunteered for the Special Olympic Spring Games and Pliant has become
one of the largest corporate volunteer groups to participate at the event.
