ClubCorp Announces Sale of Atascocita Country Club

HUMBLE, Texas, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- ClubCorp announced the recent sale of
Atascocita Country Club in Humble, Texas, to Pinehurst Trail Holdings, a local
investor group. The purchase price of the golf and country club was not
disclosed.

Atascocita Country Club was developed in the mid 1950s as a private golf,
tennis, and social club. Kingwood Country Club, a subsidiary of ClubCorp,
acquired Atascocita Country Club in 1980. The 16,000-square-foot clubhouse,
which includes a dining room, banquet room, golf shop, and lounges, was
completely remodeled in 2002.

Atascocita also boasts 27 holes of golf designed by Ralph Plummer and was the
past home course for the University of Houston when the player roster included
Fred Couples, Bruce Lietzke and Steve Elkington. Notable professional golfers
who have walked this hallowed ground include Ben Crenshaw and Tom Kite.

The buyer anticipates immediately reopening the property as Atascocita Golf
Club. Representatives for the investor group indicate that the property will
be managed by Austin-based OnCourse Strategies and offer daily fee golf
access, along with annual memberships. The golf club will continue to operate
the bar and grill, and hours of operation are being planned. The swim and
tennis facility are planned to be separately operated from the golf club
