Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington Chapter Seeks Nominations
for Outstanding Philanthropists
Local donors and volunteers to be recognized for their contributions at
National Philanthropy Day
SEATTLE, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington state philanthropists young and
old, individual and corporate, are being sought as nominees to be named as one
of seven "Outstanding Philanthropists" on National Philanthropy Day, Nov. 13,
2009, in Seattle. The award recognition is sponsored by The Association of
Fundraising Professionals - Washington Chapter.
Individuals and organizations are encouraged to nominate deserving
philanthropists for the following awards:
-- Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation
-- Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business
-- Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation
-- Outstanding Philanthropic Organization (raises private funds and makes
grants)
-- Outstanding Philanthropist(s) (individual or couple)
-- Outstanding Philanthropic Family
-- Outstanding Young Philanthropist (up to age 21)
Nomination forms can be downloaded at
http://www.afpwashington.org/npd/nominations-form-2009 and nomination letters
must be postmarked by June 12, 2009. National Philanthropy Day will take place
Nov. 13, 2009 at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle.
This annual event celebrates philanthropy in local communities throughout
Washington state. All nominees are welcome.
2008 recipients included PACCAR Inc. in Bellevue (Corporation), Village Books
in Bellingham (Small Business), Kirlin Charitable Foundation in Bellevue
(Foundation), The Moyer Foundation in Seattle (Organization), Shad Reinstein &
Jody Laine in Seattle (Philanthropists), The Bridge Family in Seattle
(Family), and Anders Crabo & Colin Flynn in Bellingham (Youth).
