PETAH TIKVA, Israel--(Business Wire)--
ECI Telecom, a global provider of networking infrastructure solutions optimized
for next-generation network (NGN) migration, today announced that the CESR
SR9700 Carrier Ethernet Switch Router platform has been selected by SDN
Communications, a Sioux Falls-based regional service provider, to support its
fiber optic network - the largest in the upper midwest - and expand its Carrier
Ethernet-based services.

ECI's award-winning CESR SR9700 is one of the industry's largest-capacity and
highest density next generation Metro Ethernet solution. Optimized for Carrier
Ethernet transport, the SR9700 has the ease-of-management and service-enabling
qualities required by SDN for its next-generation network.

"We approached our existing telecom equipment vendors in need of a solution that
would grow with us. The flexibility and cost effectiveness of ECI's product were
important elements in our decision to work with them on this project," said Tom
Durfee, Director of Network Planning and Operations of SDN. "ECI`s 9700 series
enables us to implement a converged all-IP network for both business and
residential services, with scalable quality of service (QoS) and intelligent
IP/MPLS, enabling efficient network design - a key advantage in today's dynamic
environment."

"SDN`s selection of the 9700 CESR platform further validates ECI`s ability to
effectively migrate competitive service providers` networks to next-generation
technologies. The SR9700 versatility allows carriers to cost-effectively expand
to meet the growing demands of customers, while delivering reliable advanced
services," commented Dave Robison, President, ECI Telecom Americas.
