Suspect Detection Systems Inc. Announces First Private Sector Sale of Cogito
Crime Prevention Technology in Guatemala
NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Suspect Detection Systems
Inc., (OTC: SDSS), a leading developer of counterterrorism and crime
prevention technology, announced today the sale and successful installation
of the first Cogito(TM) system in Guatemala. The installation was completed
for a leading human resources company specializing in client security.
Cogito Technology-developed by the company's subsidiary Suspect Detection
Systems Ltd.-will be utilized in Guatemala for pre-employment screening,
employee integrity checks, and fraud prevention.
Cogito is an automated interrogation system used to detect the hostile
intent of suspected criminals and terrorists. The system has multiple
applications, and is particularly useful for pre-employment and employee
screening, fraud prevention, police interrogation, and military intelligence
collection. Cogito can easily be deployed to detect terrorists or smugglers
at checkpoints and border crossings, and even within war zones.
The aforementioned human resources company serves service specific
customers at a leading commercial enterprise in Guatemala. Employees hired
through the HR company will be screened utilizing the proprietary Cogito
Employment Screening Methodology (CESM). As part of CESM, all employees will
be submitted to random Cogito testing four times a year.
CESM is a proprietary methodology enabling employers to detect fraud,
disloyal or hostile employees, and "moles" working for competing businesses
or organized crime rings. In addition to its detection capabilities, the
system also serves as a deterrent, warding off actions by potentially hostile
employees.
SDS has implemented CESM within multiple organizations in several
countries throughout the world, contributing to a reduction in the volume of
hostile activities.
The Cogito Remote Testing Function enables screenings in urban as well as
rural areas. This function allows the operators of the Cogito system in
Guatemala to supervise tests taking place in remote locations while remaining
at company headquarters in the nation's capital.
"We are excited for this first opportunity to demonstrate the value
Cogito can offer the private sector with this sale in Guatemala," said
Shabtai Shoval, CEO of SDS Ltd. "We are confident that the Cogito system will
grant our customer's businesses a more secure and trustworthy employment
environment that will directly impact the bottom line of their profit and
loss sheets."
"SDS views the employment integrity and security sector as one of the
most promising marketplaces for our line of commercial products," added
Shoval.
