HARRIS WILLIAMS & CO
The investment bank said it expanded three of its dedicated industry groups -- energy and power; healthcare and life sciences; and technology, telecom and digital media -- with new hires.
The firm said Brian Lucas and Matt White joined its energy and power team, and hired Todd Morris to its healthcare and life sciences team to lead a new West Coast team. Harris Williams also named David Joncas as co-head of its technology, telecom and digital media team.
RBC WEALTH MANAGEMENT
RBC Wealth Management, a unit of Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO), said it recently hired Mark Dewane as senior vice president and financial consultant to its Phoenix office. Dewane, formerly with UBS (UBSN.VX), has about $160 million of assets under management and more than $1 million in production, the company said.
WINSTON & STRAWN LLP
The law firm said corporate attorney David Hertzog rejoined its New York office as counsel. Hertzog focuses his practice on corporate matters, including financial transactions, securities, mergers and acquisitions and private equity, the firm said.
DEUTSCHE BANK (DBKGn.DE)
The German bank hired Jim Ratigan away from Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) as a managing director focused on industrial sector mergers and acquisitions in the Americas, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters.
Ratigan has worked at Merrill Lynch or Bank of America for the past 18 years, the memo said. [ID:nWEN9331]
BANC OF AMERICA SECURITIES-MERRILL LYNCH
The brokerage said it hired a five-person U.S. real estate investment trust (REIT) team from UBS (UBSN.VX). The U.S. REIT team will be based in New York, it said. [ID:nWNAB1442]
FOLEY & LARDNER LLP
Law firm Foley & Lardner said it hired Barry Madel as a partner in its New York office, working in its securities enforcement and litigation practice, and white-collar defense practice. Mandel most recently served as co-head of global litigation, employment and regulatory affairs for Merrill Lynch.
METLIFE (MET.N)
The U.S. life insurer appointed Peter Carlson chief accounting officer, replacing Joseph Prochaska. Previously, Carlson held various leadership positions in finance at Wachovia.
UNICREDIT (CRDI.MI)
The head of UniCredit's Bank Austria, the country's biggest bank and Unicredit's holding company for most of its emerging European assets, will step down at the end of September, the company said. [ID:nLJ505591]
CREDIT SUISSE (CSGN.VX)
A senior Citigroup (C.N) investment banker, active on a number of high-profile bank takeovers and government bailouts, is leaving the bank to join Credit Suisse, according to a memo seen by Reuters. [ID:nLJ346234]
CONDUIT CAPITAL MARKETS
The independent mid-market institutional derivatives and securities dealer appointed Mark Watson non-executive director with immediate effect. In 2004, Watson was appointed head of European fixed income for Citigroup, based in London, before leaving in 2008.
ALIXPARTNERS
The financial advisory firm appointed Liam Colley managing director of financial advisory services practice and Steve Ambort, managing director and senior member of the information management services team in its London office. Ambort joins from the firm's Chicago office. Colley was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their London office, where he directed PwC's competition economics practice.
HAMPTON ROADS BANKSHARES
