Smart Metering Conference and Exposition for Utility Industry Takes Place Sept.
13-16
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
Utilimetrics, the trade association for smart metering and innovative
technologies, announces the dates for Autovation 2009, the organization`s
international conference and exposition.

Autovation, the only conference focused entirely on smart metering,
communications, automation and data management, will take place September 13 -
16, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

"The Obama administration has elevated the significant role that the smart grid
and other innovative technologies must play in the utility industry," says
Utilimetrics CEO Joel Hoiland, "but many in our industry lack the resources and
knowledge for deployment. Autovation brings together the utility community to
share research, best practices, and provide the most current information on
investing in, deploying and delivering these emerging technologies to
consumers," he adds.

Autovation will feature in-depth sessions focusing on a wide range of issues
including deployment strategies, real-world lessons on contract negotiation,
deployment, project management, security, power outage management, and
interoperability.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Dan Burrus. Burrus is one of the
world`s leading technology forecasters and business strategists and is the
author of six books, including the highly acclaimed Technotrends, which has been
translated into more than a dozen languages.
