Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation offer $300,000 in
matching funds for North Texans' donations

DALLAS, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Communities Foundation of Texas, The Dallas
Foundation and the Center for Nonprofit Management have joined to launch
DonorBridge, a new online resource designed to help North Texans connect with
nonprofit agencies addressing community needs. The site, donorbridgetx.org,
launches to the public with the first-ever Dallas Giving Day on May 20.

"We want to shine a light on the crucial role nonprofit organizations play in
our region," said Brent Christopher, president and CEO of Communities
Foundation of Texas. "Now more than ever, these groups need our support.
Dallas has always been a giving community and with DonorBridge, we want to
make it easier for people to give wisely."

Communities Foundation of Texas teamed with Blackbaud(R), the leading global
provider of software and services designed specifically for nonprofit
organizations, to create DonorBridge. Built on Blackbaud's
NonprofitCentral(TM) solution, DonorBridge offers information about all U.S.
charities, including hundreds of in-depth profiles of North Texas-area
nonprofit organizations. Potential supporters can find information about
agencies' operations that, until now, have not been readily available to the
public. Each nonprofit has created a custom portrait detailing their mission,
programs offered, finances and results.

To encourage donations on Dallas Giving Day, contributions made through
DonorBridge to participating nonprofit organizations will be matched. Donors
can go to donorbridgetx.org beginning at 12:01 a.m. on May 20, give to any one
of the hundreds of local organizations which have completed an in-depth
profile and have their donation matched, dollar-for-dollar while funds last.
Communities Foundation of Texas, with support from The Dallas Foundation, has
designated a total of $300,000 in matching funds for the occasion.

    How the match works:

During a special preview day on May 19, online grant recommendations
from donor-advised funds at Communities Foundation of Texas and The
Dallas Foundation will be matched at 50 cents to-the-dollar up to
$2,500 per fund. A total of $100,000 is available for this day.

On May 20, credit card gifts made by anyone through DonorBridge will
be matched dollar-for-dollar while matching funds last. A total of at
least $200,000 is available for the match plus any remaining matching
funds from the preview day. The minimum gift is $25 and the maximum
matching contribution per individual is $2,500. Donors may support
more than one organization, but the total match per individual may
not exceed $2,500, while funds last.

The maximum matching funds available per nonprofit organization is
        $25,000.

"The Dallas Giving Day match will make donors' dollars go further," said Mary
Jalonick, president of The Dallas Foundation. "It will introduce people to
organizations they may not have known. Especially in this economy, it is
important to be thoughtful and intentional about making sure our charitable
contributions have the most impact."

The general public can visit donorbridgetx.org beginning on May 20 to get
started.
