SAPERION Launches Version 6 of Its ECM Platform

SAPERION, expert in Enterprise Content Management, today launched version 6 of
its celebrated Enterprise Content Management system. The new version is based on
the latest interface standards to give users an open yet powerful information
platform. The highlights include the SAPERION Content Repository and expanded
records management functions.

serves as a centralized platform for all of a company`s content management
requirements. It utilizes standardized technology, making it
platform-independent and flexible, while securing the customer`s investment for

The SAPERION Content Repository lies at the heart of SAPERION 6. Developed under
the code name "Larix", the interface standard enables rapid and straightforward
integration into a variety of system topologies in purchasing and production
processes, including SAP and Microsoft Office. The new release consistently
utilizes service oriented architectures (SOA) and supports advanced API-based
integration of high-performance ECM functions into existing corporate
structures. This includes support for both the Java industry standard JCR (Java
Content Repository) as well as the .Net system environment.

Version 5.7 is upwards compatible with the new version of SAPERION. Following a
straightforward data conversion, existing applications can be smoothly
integrated into version 6. According to Mr. Emmrich: "This is how we ensure that

Records Management functions expanded

SAPERION 6 also includes an expanded range of Records Management functions.
These features give users the ability to maintain legal compliance even as
standards and requirements change rapidly. The new version allows companies to
define retention times according to individual classes or to extend previously
defined retention times. The ECM solution from SAPERION now also has the
capability of setting a litigation hold. If deletion is attempted, notifications
about the defined retention time may be displayed. Deletion routines can also be
configured as a standard procedure. Mr. Emmrich summarizes: "Preserving

Ergonomics and Ad Hoc Workflow improved

The ergonomic user interface of SAPERION 6 already reflects the look and feel of
Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 operating system. "Skins" give the user an easy
way to adapt the appearance to specific design requirements. Having freedom to
compose the layout of the user interface also improves utilization of the
screen. Another interesting feature of version 6 is automated indexing with
drag-and-drop functionality. As a result, archiving e-mails from Microsoft
Outlook, files, folders, and subfolders is easier than ever before. Attributes
of Microsoft Office documents are used to assign keywords and the attributes of
an e-mail are depicted on preconfigured index fields. In addition, the search
function in SAPERION 6 was expanded to include revisions.

With the improved Ad Hoc Workflow in SAPERION 6, users can now generate and
track their own business processes at any time with the Running List Wizard.
Recipients are defined with a wildcard search and by selecting from the list of
hits. Finally, new version 6 of SAPERION contains a refined dialog for
maintaining running lists and the option of saving running lists as templates
whenever desired.
