Hormel Foods Announces Advancement

AUSTIN, Minn.--(Business Wire)--
Hormel Foods Corporation (NYSE: HRL) today announced the advancement of James T.
Anderson to assistant controller, effective immediately.

gained through more than 30 years of experience with the company," said Jody H.
Feragen, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Hormel Foods.

Anderson will continue his responsibilities leading financial reporting,
financial shared services, financial consolidation, payroll, fixed asset
accounting and budgeting. He will continue to report to James N. Sheehan, vice
president and controller at Hormel Foods.

Anderson started his career with Hormel Foods in 1977 as an accountant at the
Fremont (Neb.) Plant and moved to Ottumwa, Iowa, as an accountant within the
year. During his tenure at Ottumwa, he held a number of management positions
before assuming the role as office manager in San Francisco, Calif., in 1984. In
the fall of 1984, he started as the office manager in Los Angeles, Calif. He
moved to the Hormel Foods Corporate Office in Austin, Minn., in 1988 and assumed
the role as supervisor of internal auditing. He was promoted to corporate
manager of credit and claims in 2000, and to his current position as director of
general accounting at the Corporate Office in 2001.
