Awards Recognize Certified Managers, Board Members, and Partners That Exemplify
Superior Leadership and Excellence in Professional Development
HARRISONBURG, Va.--(Business Wire)--
The Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM), a leading management
development and leadership educator, announced today the recipients of the 2009
ICPM Recognition Awards. Seven managers, which included Certified Managers (CM),
CM™ instructors and facilitators, ICPM partners, and ICPM Regents, were
recognized for their outstanding leadership, support, and commitment to
management education. Award categories included: CM of the Year, CM Facilitator
of the Year, ICPM Training Partner of the Year, and The Max Wortman, Jr.
Distinguished Service Award.

The call for award nominations is made during the first quarter of each year,
with submissions made by senior managers, Certified Managers, NMA and AALAS
representatives, and board members. Finalists are selected by an Awards
Committee and officially announced in May. Live award presentations are made at
a variety of recognition events.

This year`s award recipients were recognized for their outstanding efforts in
outreach and recruitment, innovative instruction, quality facilitation,
mentoring, social responsibility, ethical modeling, and advocacy for the CM
program. Additionally, recipients of The Max Wortman, Jr. Distinguished Service
Award were recognized for exceptional board leadership and support of the CM
certification program while serving on the ICPM Board of Regents, the governing
body for the Institute.

"With so much talent among CMs and ICPM partners, the award decisions were
extremely difficult to make," said Lynn Powell, CM, ICPM Director. "This year`s
award recipients all have long histories of service, leadership, and
volunteerism that support management and leadership development. By generously
sharing their time and expertise, and leading the way, they exemplify the very
essence of what CM certification is all about."

Melinda Hester, CM, United Space Alliance at Kennedy Space Center, Florida and
