Rating for Systems Engineering

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Ordnance and
Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced
today that its Niceville Operations has achieved CMMI(R) Maturity Level 3. The
Niceville Operation, which specializes in the design, development and
production of warheads for tactical missiles, rockets, ammunition and bombs,
incorporates CMMI best practices into its system engineering processes
throughout the life cycle of these products.

CMMI best practices enable organizations to amalgamate management and
engineering activities to their business objectives, implement robust
practices and incorporate lessons learned to ensure that the products and
services meet customer expectations. The Systems Engineering Institute (SEI)
advocates CMMI as the best process improvement-model available for product and
service development and maintenance. Achieving a Capability Level 3 rating for
all 18 process areas evaluated demonstrates General Dynamics' commitment to
continual improvement.

"Our engineering teams, using these processes, consistently deliver quality
design, analysis, testing and production of warhead and payload systems for

Tactical Systems. "This CMMI Level 3 rating validates our commitment to robust
systems engineering processes and strengthens our capability to achieve cost,
