Avery Dennison Names R. Shawn Neville Group Vice President, Retail Information Services

PASADENA, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE:AVY) announced today that it has named R. Shawn
Neville to the position of Group Vice President, Retail Information Services. In
this position, Shawn will be a member of the Company's Corporate Leadership Team
and report to Dean A. Scarborough, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Avery Dennison. He will be based in Framingham, Massachusetts and lead three
divisions within the RIS Group: Information and Brand Management, Printer
Systems and Fastener.

brand management, and consumer packaged goods," said Scarborough. "This unique
mix of experience, combined with Shawn's senior leadership skills, will help us

Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Shawn served as Chief Executive Officer and
Director of Boathouse Sports, a leading custom team apparel manufacturer and
brand. He has held senior management positions with Footstar, Reebok, and
Striderite including: Chief Executive Officer and President of Footstar's
Athletic retail division, GM of Reebok's North American division, and President
of Keds Group. Shawn started his career in consumer packaged goods with Procter
and Gamble and also worked for VISA USA, leading their retail and direct
marketing industry development. He earned a BSBA degree from the University of
Denver. 

Terry Hemmelgarn, the current Group Vice President of the RIS group, will assume
the role of Vice President and General Manager of the Information and Brand
Management Division reporting to Shawn. "Terry has done an outstanding job
leading the transformation to date including the integration of Paxar into the
RIS group," said Scarborough. "Terry's deeper focus on the largest division
within the group, which he has been managing directly for the past year, is
