Schaeffer's Option Activity Alert: Put Activity Heats Up on Genco Shipping & Trading Limited

CINCINNATI--(Business Wire)--
Puts were a popular choice Monday on Genco Shipping & Trading Limited (NYSE:
GNK). During the course of the session, traders on the International Securities
Exchange (ISE) bought to open 1,896 puts on GNK, compared to just 230 calls. In
other words, speculative investors picked up 8.24 times more bearish bets than
bullish. 

This skew toward pessimistically oriented options represents a deviation from
the recent trend on the ISE, where GNK has garnered a 10-day call/put volume
ratio of 1.37. This ratio ranks in the 56th annual percentile, indicating that
calls have been slightly more active than usual in recent weeks.
