Community Event Features Mobile Museum on Funeral Customs, Leader Dogs for the
Blind, and Refreshments

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Reflections: The American
Funeral exhibit explores America's rich history of mourning the dead,
beginning with Native American burial mounds and ending with the diverse
rituals practiced across the country today.

Free and open to the public, Reflections will be on display at Guardian Angel
Cemetery on Tuesday, May 26, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. as part of the Lifetime
Planning Event, featuring community service providers (including reverse
mortgage specialists, health-care providers, financial planners, and elder law
experts) who can provide solutions and answer questions to help citizens take
care of themselves and their loved ones. Antique cars, hot dogs and ice cream,
cemetery tours and demonstrations from Leader Dogs for the Blind guarantee
something for everyone. Reflections will remain open to the public on
Wednesday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it is handicap-accessible. Guardian
Angel Cemetery is located at 4701 N. Rochester Rd., Rochester Hills, MI; ph
(800) 275-9574.

"Reflections is a moving, insightful, and educational museum because it
enlightens us about historical traditions of honoring loved ones," says Linda
Jankowski, Director of Sales, Marketing and Family Services for Mt. Elliott
Cemetery Association. This tour stop is co-sponsored by Pixley Funeral Homes;
Modetz Funeral Homes: Rochester-Orion & Waterford; Wujek-Calcaterra Sons:
Shelby Township & Sterling Heights; A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors;
Wasik Funeral Home: Shelby Township.

Reflections: The American Funeral is spread out across 1,000 sq. ft. of
thoughtful display areas. Of special note is the Lincoln exhibit, featuring a
reproduction of Lincoln's casket and tracing the near 3-week funeral
procession. Scholars cite Lincoln's 1865 funeral as the birth of today's
modern funeral service. Produced by Michigan-based MRA, it's earning high
praise from everyone who experiences it. "Awesome!" "Great educational tool!"
"Amazing!" "Brings out a lot of things we don't think about." "Very, very
moving."

It receives support from Legacy.com - the leader in the online memorial and
obituary market in partnership with over 650 U.S., UK and Canadian newspapers;
the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE); and Kates-Boylston
Publications, the parent company of American Funeral Director magazine, a
leading independent trade magazine for funeral directors and other funeral
service professionals. Sponsorship and appearance inquires are welcome and can
