of HIV in Developing World

New multi-country research finds neither newborns nor their mothers receiving
appropriate treatment and care to end needless tragedy; Governments, UN
agencies, donors at fault

WHAT: "Failing Women, Failing Children: HIV, Vertical Transmission and Women's
Health," the seventh Missing the Target report by the International Treatment
Preparedness Coalition (ITPC).

Leading HIV/AIDS advocates and in-country researchers will present findings,
discuss barriers and offer recommendations to radically improve coordination
at national and global levels. Countries included in research: Argentina,
Cambodia, Moldova, Morocco, Uganda and Zimbabwe, representing a range of
high-and low-intensity HIV epidemics and varying levels of prevention
services.
