WALTHAM, MA, May 19 (MARKET WIRE) --
Black Duck Software, the leading global provider of products and services
for accelerating software development through the managed use of open
source software (OSS), today announced the expansion of its presence in
the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of offices in Tokyo, Japan.

Black Duck, which counts NEC as a reseller partner in Japan, also has
reseller partners in South Korea, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Peoples
Republic of China. The company maintains international offices in Hong
Kong, Frankfurt and Paris.

Black Duck CEO Tim Yeaton, speaking to the audience of partners, press and
dignitaries, introduced the Black Duck Suite, a comprehensive open source
management platform that integrates individual Black Duck products to
provide new levels of automation and efficiency. In addition to Mr.
Yeaton, Black Duck featured speakers from IBM Japan, NEC and NTT Comware
sharing their perspectives on open source. The Black Duck Suite,
announced March 9, 2009, is available and shipping.

"The use of OSS introduces issues such as license compliance, security
vulnerabilities and version proliferation to companies employing a
multi-source development model," said Yeaton. "Managing the use of OSS
enables companies to build software faster, better, and more economically
while eliminating the consequences associated with the un-managed use of
open source code."
