Japan finmin says banks are raising capital smoothly

TOKYO May 19 (Reuters) - Finance Minister Kaoru Yosano said on Tuesday that the Japanese financial system remained sound and banks were raising capital smoothly.
"Banks' capital raising has met with strong demand and is going smoothly," Yosano told a news conference after a cabinet meeting. (Reporting by Hideyuki Sano)
