US consumer confidence falls off 7-mo highs-ABC
NEW YORK, May 19 (Reuters) - ABC News on Tuesday released its weekly index on consumer confidence in the United States, showing the Consumer Comfort Index fell to -45 from -42 the previous week.
The index has read -45 or better in the past four weeks, touching levels last seen in October.
The index ranges from -100 to +100, and reached a record low of -54 in the week to Dec. 1, 2008 and again in the week ended Jan. 25, 2009.

The ABC News consumer confidence survey was based on a sample of about 1,000 interviews conducted in the four weeks ending May 17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. (U.S. Treasury desk; Tel: 646-223-6300)
