FANNIE MAE FNM.N
The company said Karen Pallotta will replace Thomas Lund as head of its single-family mortgage business, effective June 1. Lund will retire at the end of June, the company said. [ID:nN20495218]
PROSKAUER ROSE
The law firm named Bruce Lieb and Robin Painter as co-chairs of its corporate department; Elise Bloom as co-chair of its labor and employment law department; and Robert Cleary as co-chair of the litigation and dispute resolution department.
The firm also named Louis Eatman as head of its Los Angeles office and David Pratt as co-head of its Boca Raton office.
MOELIS & CO
The boutique U.S. investment bank said Alex Rubin will join the firm in June as managing director based in New York. Rubin, who was previously with Citigroup (C.N), will be responsible for providing advisory services to clients in the real estate sector, Moelis said.
KPMG
The UK firm said Darryl Murphy will join the company as one of the senior figures tracking market developments for global clients. Murphy, who will join KPMG in July, is currently head of European project finance and global head of infrastructure at HSBC (HSBA.L).
JONES DAY
The international law firm said Lily Fu Claffee has joined its Washington office as a partner in the government regulation practice. She formerly served as general counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
RBC WEALTH MANAGEMENT
The company said it recently hired the Galli Investment Team, which manages taxable and tax-exempt short-term bond portfolios customized to meet specific objectives. The team consists of Marina Galli, senior vice president-financial consultant; Jennifer Seidler, senior financial associate; Jennifer Cai, senior registered client associate; and Bonafe De Mayo, registered client associate. The team joins RBC from Credit Suisse and will work out of RBC's San Francisco office.
THIRD AVENUE MANAGEMENT LLC
The investment firm, run by veteran investor Martin Whitman, said Christopher Walsh and Erin Gilroy joined the firm as managing directors in the Marketing and Sales Department.

LATHAM & WATKINS LLP
D.J. Jan Baker, formerly a restructuring partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, is joining Latham Watkins as co-head of the international law firm's restructuring practice, Skadden said.
BRYAN CAVE LLP
The international law firm said Stephen Ball has joined its London office as partner. Ball, a corporate and financial services lawyer, joins the firm's corporate finance and securities client service group.
STANDARD CHARTERED (STAN.L)
The bank appointed David Douglas as global head of Equity Capital Markets. Douglas has more than 25 years of experience in investment banking, principally in equity capital markets, having worked most recently in Hong Kong. The bank also appointed four additional members of its corporate finance team based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
The association appointed Aviva Investors global CEO Alain Dromer, Investec Asset Management CEO Hendrik du Toit, Fidelity International European business president Robert Higginbotham and Barclays Global Investors CEO (EMEA and Asia ex-Japan) David J Semaya to its board.
ABERDEEN PROPERTY INVESTORS (ADN.L)
The investment division of Aberdeen Asset Management, appointed Antonio Alvarez investment director with a focus on Stockholm based products and mandates. Fredrik Eliasson has been appointed deputy fund manager for AIPP Active, the team's open-ended private/public property fund of funds. Glyn Nelson has been named head of research and investment strategy for Asia Pacific.
SWISS LIFE (SLHN.VX)
The insurer named industry veteran Thomas Buess as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Thomas Mueller, who is leaving the company at the end of June. [ID:nLK573591]

The private equity firm has promoted Finance Director Lynn Fordham to the role of chief executive as it looks to refine its strategy following recent portfolio writedowns and a capital raising. [ID:nLK943516]

The real estate investment manager appointed Malcolm Smith chief operating officer and will be based at the British headquarters in London.
