UPDATE 2-Sara Lee files suit against Kraft's Oscar Mayer

NEW YORK May 20 (Reuters) - Sara Lee Corp (SLE.N) filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Kraft Foods' (KFT.N) Oscar Mayer, saying the hot dog maker has misled consumers by claiming its hot dogs are superior to Sara Lee's Ball Park brand.

The lawsuit focuses on advertisements by Oscar Mayer that compare the taste of its hot dogs directly to the Ball Park brand.

"It is both false and misleading to consumers," Sara Lee said in a statement.

Kraft has not yet seen the lawsuit but it stands by its reputation for accurate advertising to consumers, Syd Lindner, a spokesman for Kraft Foods, wrote in an e-mailed statement. (Reporting by Elinor Comlay; editing by Carol Bishopric, Bernard Orr)
