Lexicon to Present Clinical Data for LX1031 and LX1032 at Digestive Disease Week

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, May 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --Lexicon Pharmaceuticals,
Inc. (Nasdaq: LXRX), a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and
developing breakthrough treatments for human disease, announced today that the
company will be giving oral presentations on two of its clinical-stage drug
development programs:  LX1031, an oral drug candidate for the treatment of
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and LX1032, an oral drug candidate for
managing gastrointestinal symptoms associated with carcinoid syndrome.  The
presentations will take place at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Chicago,
Illinois on Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1, respectively.  DDW is the
world's largest gathering of physicians and researchers in the fields of
gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery.  LX1031
is currently in a Phase 2 clinical trial in patients with non-constipating
IBS, and LX1032 is entering a Phase 2 study in patients with carcinoid
syndrome.
