Grants and Prizes To Be Awarded to Local High School Art Programs and Students

What: Blue Coat Systems is hosting the Fourth Annual Community Art Showcase Friday, May 29, 2009 at its Sunnyvale, CA headquarters.
The Annual Community Art Show brings together teachers, students, families and members of the community to support local arts programs and enjoy paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and graphic art by talented students from 23 local high schools. Everyone is welcome to attend the showcase, meet the artists and enjoy great food, fun and prizes. Who: Artists and educators from 23 local high schools participate in the Annual Art Showcase that the entire community can enjoy.
The showcase will feature artists from the following local high schools:
Abraham Lincoln, AchieveKids, Andrew P. Hill, Bellarmine, Cupertino, Evergreen, Freestyle, Fremont, Henry M. Gunn, Homestead, Los Gatos, Lynbrook, Monta Vista, Notre Dame, Oak Grove, Palo Alto, Piedmont Hills, San Jose High Academy, Santa Clara, Santa Teresa, Silver Creek, Westmont Gunn, William Overfelt
Speakers at this year`s event will include Sunnyvale Mayor Anthony Spitaleri, John Loomis, director of the School of Art and Design at San Jose State University, Dave De Simone, senior vice president products and operations at Blue Coat, and Donna Gemperle, Blue Coat facilities manager.
Local members of the art community will be judging the competition, including: Mr. Loomis, Susan O`Malley, assistant curator at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, artist Paule Dubois Dupuis, Bethany Mayer, senior vice president worldwide marketing at Blue Coat Systems and Donna Gemperle
