(SOA) Governance Technologies based on the 2008 Application Infrastructure and
Middleware Software market share figures1 released by Gartner, Inc., a leading
industry analyst firm. This is the first year Gartner has ranked the SOA
Governance Technologies market.

Gartner noted that Software AG had a 55.9% growth (in U.S. dollar terms) in the
SOA Governance market in 2008, compared to 2007. The analyst firm ranked
Software AG`s worldwide market share at 13.7%, which topped the second-ranked
competitor by three points.

Earlier this year, Gartner positioned Software AG in the Leaders Quadrant for
SOA Governance Technologies2 Magic Quadrant.
